How did the zipper come about?

The zipper is one of the ten inventions that make people's lives easier in modern times.
The emergence of zipper is a century ago. At that time, in some parts of central Europe, people tried to replace buttons and bows by means of straps, hooks and loops, so they began trials to develop zippers. Zippers were first used in military uniforms. For the first time in World War I, the United States Army ordered a large number of zippers to make clothing for soldiers. However, the popularization of the zipper in the folk was relatively late, and it was not accepted by women until 1930 as a substitute for clothing buttons.
The prototype of the invention of the zipper originally came from the boots that people wore. In the middle of the 19th century, boots were very popular, especially suitable for walking on muddy or horse excrement roads, but the disadvantage was that there were more than 20 hook-type buttons on boots, which was extremely time-consuming to put on and take off. This shortcoming invaded the inventor's head and cost a lot of money and patience to the sponsor. In order to avoid the trouble of putting on and taking off boots, people even endure wearing boots all day. Finally in 1851, the American Elias Howe applied for a patent similar to the zipper design, but it was not commercialized, and even forgotten for half a century.
In 1893 (one said in 1883), an American engineer (Kuwaiti) named Judson developed a "sliding device" and obtained a patent. This was the original prototype of a zipper. The appearance of this device has once affected the button hooks used on high boots. It was not until decades later that zippers were gradually accepted and industrialized in the 20th century.
